T32 Pre-Doctoral Program: Team Oriented Training across the Translational Sciences Spectrum

Provides support for pre-doctoral trainees to develop skills for conducting team oriented clinical and translational research and science spanning the pre-clinical to population health spectrum. Trainees are co-mentored by faculty with diverse clinical and translational interests and expertise. The program integrates training with the development of clinical and translational team-oriented research skills through coursework, workshops/seminars, mentorship, an immersion experience with a translational mentor, and a research project(s).

The CCTSI and its Workforce Development are committed to diversity, inclusion, equity and accessibility. Diversity and equity drive excellence in clinical and translational research and how evidence is applied. We are dedicated to working with trainees, faculty, and staff from diverse backgrounds to continuously foster a culture of inclusivity and to address inequities and injustices in under-served populations.

Funding will start in September 2025. Funding is for up to 2 years, given sufficient progress and meeting of expectations. However, to make it feasible for clinical doctorate students a one-year option is available.

    • Two year fellowship stipend provided at the NRSA/NIH level that can be supplemented by the mentor with non-federal funds.  The second year of funding will be contingent upon sufficient progress and meeting of expectations.
    • One year awards are available for clinical doctorate students who are able to take a leave from studies to pursue this additional training opportunity.  The provided fellowship stipend is at the NRSA/NIH level that can be supplemented by the mentor with non-federal funds.
