The CCTSI was launched in 2008. It is funded by an NIH CTSA grant award and also receives substantial support from universities and partner hospitals. The first grant was the largest Colorado University had ever seen, and since then the grant has been renewed in 2013 and 2018.
Through many programs and services, the CCTSI provides the infrastructure to help build research teams, speed the development of treatments and improve human health. Each year the CCTSI awards nearly $3 million in pilot grants and training awards per year.
